‘Wild Style’ Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary (Video)
In 1983, filmmaker Charlie Ahearn go together with graffiti artists Fab 5 Freddy and Lee Quinones, to come up with the film “Wild Style.” The movie chronicled the hip-hop scene. At that time, the scene was still in it’s infant stage. The documentary became the first feature film about hip-hop.
30 years later, the film still stands strong. The film recently had a free screening in NYC as part of the , SummerStage’s “This Is Hip-Hop” series at the East River Park amphitheater. If you’re in NYC next Monday, stop by and check out the film. Until then, take a look at the trailer below.
