Aint That Beyonce’s Sister?: Is Solange Set To Play Aaliyah In New Biopic
I hope Timberland approves of this.
Rumor has it that an Aaliyah biopic will be in the works and one person who is being sought to play the role is Beyonce’s sister, Solange.
The project, which is said to be produced by the people behind, “Think Like A Man,” would star Knowles. I can’t think of many if any roles that Solange has played before, but this would be a great jump-off to a possible new career for her.

Somebody really hit a lick this weekend!
$53 million of diamonds and other jewels were stolen Sunday from the Carlton Intercontinental Hotel in Cannes. This is one of Europe’s biggest jewelry heists in recent years, police said.
The hotel in the French Riviera this summer has been hosting an exhibit of jewels from the prestigious Leviev diamond house, which is owned by Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev.
A police spokesman said the theft took place around noon, but he could not confirm local media reports that the robber was a single gunman who stuffed a suitcase with the gems before making a swift exit. The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter on the record.
Several police officers were placed in front of the Carlton exhibition room to prevent journalists and photographers gathered at the scene from entering.
The luxury Carlton hotel is situated on the exclusive Promenade de la Croisette that stretches a mile and a half along the French Riviera. The hotel’s position provides not only a beautiful view of the sea, but an easy get away for potential jewel thieves along the long stretch of road.
The jewels were supposed to be on public display until the end of August. It was not immediately clear how many pieces were stolen.
Hotel officials would not comment, and attempts to reach Leviev or his company were not immediately successful.

It looks like maybe Dj Khaled went a little too far in his pursuit of Nicki Minaj
The two Cash Money Records stars had hip-hop fans buzzing on Thursday, July 25, after Khaled appeared on MTV in an awkward video clip professing his “love” for Nicki. Khaled even asked the voluptuous female rapper to marry him, presenting a 10-karat diamond ring from Rafaello & Co. But no one seemed to take the Miami-based superstar’s proposal too seriously.
At least, it didn’t seem like anyone was taking him seriously.
But according to HipHop365, Nicki didn’t think the stunt was sweet or cute or funny.
The Young Money first lady has allegedly responded to Khaled’s affections by filing a restraining order in her home state of New York. According to FOX News, this is just the latest in a series of incidents where Khaled decided to show his love for Nicki. The DJ reportedly sent her flowers and various packages before. And he has unexpectedly shown up at her shows all across the country, according to reports.
A day after his proposal stunt, Khaled posted a screenshot of Nicki from his music video for “Take It To the Head” along with the caption “Beautiful.”
There is some skepticism about the restraining order claim, however. Some outlets are wondering if the whole thing is a YMCMB-concocted publicity stunt. Back in 2010, Minaj and fellow label star Drake engaged in a playful hoax where they pretended to be marrying each other.
Nicki Minaj hasn’t publicly spoken about DJ Khaled or the proposal video.

Hernandez Associate Held On $500,000 Bail
A man prosecutors say was with Aaron Hernandez the night the former New England Patriots tight end’s friend was killed has been held on $500,000 cash bail.
Ernest Wallace appeared Friday in Attleboro District Court on a charge of being an accessory to murder.
His lawyer argued that Wallace was not a flight risk and wanted to return to his family’s home in Florida. Attorney David Meier sought bail of $10,000.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez’s home. He was shot five times.
Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd’s killing because he was upset at him for talking to people Hernandez had problems with.

Supporters of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman came face-to-face Sunday during a march through a wealthy neighborhood in Houston.
Some 80 pro-Zimmerman supporters waived signs and shouted slogans at Martin supporters as they passed through the neighborhood of River Oaks, an upscale enclave deemed “Houston’s Sanford, Florida” by the organizer of the Trayvon rally, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Separated by cops on horseback and specialized crowd-control units, the two sides traded insults and shouted slogans at one another, but never clashed.
As the pro-Martin group passed with signs calling for “Justice for Trayvon,” Zimmerman backers shouted in support of Florida’s controversial Stand Your Ground law and held up signs that said, “Keep Calm and Stand Your Ground,” “If the Head Is Split You Must Acquit,” and “Remove the Black Panthers from the U.S.A.”
One woman in the Zimmerman group held a sign that said “We’re racist & proud.”
Austin resident Renee Vaughan echoed the sign’s ugly sentiments by yelling, “We’re racist. We’re proud. We’re better because we’re white,” at the Martin group as they passed, according to the Chronicle.
The march on River Oaks was organized by activist Quanell X, the leader of the New Black Panther Party in Houston.
During the rally, he dismissed the pro-Zimmerman crowd, telling supports, “To be honest with you, we don’t give a damn about anybody supporting George Zimmerman and gunning down a child.”
The tense confrontation came a week and a day after the 29-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer was acquitted on murder charges for shooting the 17-year-old Martin in February 2012.
Over the weekend, more than 100 rallies protesting the ruling were held in cities nationwide.

Rolling Stone’s ‘The Bomber’ Issue Banned By CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid And Kmart (UPDATE)
CVS and New England-based grocery store chain Tedeschi Foods say they won’t be selling this week’s Rolling Stone, which features Boston bombing Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover.
Tedeschi posted this to its Facebook page after Rolling Stone released an early peek of the cover, which is set to hit shelves Friday:
CVS also confirmed in a statement that it won’t be selling the issue.
“As a company with deep roots in New England and a strong presence in Boston, we believe this is the right decision out of respect for the victims of the attack and their loved ones,” the statement reads.
Walgreens wrote in an e-mail to The Huffington Post that the drugstore chain also won’t be selling the issue. The company also posted a tweet about its decision:

Rite Aid also won’t be selling this month’s Rolling Stone, according to a statement from the drugstore chain e-mailed to HuffPost.
“Out of respect for those affected by the Boston Marathon Bombing, Rite Aid has decided not to sell the August issue of Rolling Stone,” the statement reads. “The issue is being removed from stores as it arrives from the distributor.”
A Kmart spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to HuffPost that the retailer also won’t be selling copies of the magazine, “out of respect for those impacted by the events of April 15th.”
7-Eleven will not be selling the infamous magazine at company-operated stores, a spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to HuffPost. The convenience store will also be encouraging their franchisees to do the same. The decision comes one day after a spokesperson told HuffPost 7-Eleven would continue to sell the magazine.
